The Sustainable Development Club (SDC) is two weeks into a 3-week project called “We Love Mother Nature” to educate children in Phu Lo Primary School about environmental issues. It aims to increase the awareness of sustainable solutions such as recycling to combat significant challenges such as pollution and its relationship to climate change.
SDC organized two workcamps in July. Sunny Playground ran over the course of a week from 20th to 27th July in Pa Che 2 and Effervescent Summer ran over the course of two weeks from 7th to 21st July in Pa Che 1. Each involved 14 SDC volunteers and both locations are in Moc Chau, Son La province.
From the 25th to the 26th, SDC organized a weekend work camp in the Van Son commune, Son Dong district, Bac Giang province. This campaign is part of the “Project on Malnutrition Reduction and Increase of Food Security”, that is held and funded by Gruppo Trentino Volontariato – GTV (an Italian NGO) with the support of SDC.
The trip started in the early morning with extremely eager volunteers and four SDCers. We received a very warm welcome from the headmistress of Pa Che 1 Elementary school and the children after a 5 hour long journey by coach. We were greatly supported and encouraged through the hospitality of the local people. We successfully organized three small programs at the school.

The objective of the trip was to organize activies that covered different topics such as: the nutrition, cultural exchange for children and youth unity and House visits to the Bac Giang project.
